We hear the words “SEO” or “Search Engine Optimization” thrown around all the time in the marketing space, but what exactly does they look like in action?

What does SEO actually do? What are the main aspects of SEO? And why should we even care about it?

In this video, I will break down what SEO is. I will give you the dictionary definition of it, but will also show you the results of good SEO in search engines like Google.

Also, I will show you a checklist of all the main aspects of search engine optimization that you need to focus on to help your content get more traffic.

This checklist will include both of the main types of SEO: On-page and Off-page.

For on-page, you will want to focus on things like internal links, title keywords, tags, categories, site speed, etc.

For off-page, you will want to focus on thing like backlinks, social shares, comments, etc.

After watching the video you should have a pretty good understanding of what search engine optimization is and how it works if you didn’t already. Enjoy!

    Hey Justin,

Thank you for exploring the main aspects of SEO. At least, my major takeaways from this post have to do with the exposition done on On-page and Off-page SEO.

It is very helpful and will even be more helpful when put into action. It’s not enough to know what SEO is but to understand it enough to put what one knows into action.

Other than advertising, I doubt any blog/website can have meaningful traffic without SEO. Most effective SEO techniques would be internal linking and creating back links from high PR sites. These strategies I have implemented on some of my blogs and it has been very effective.

But like they say, SEO takes time, practice and great care to be effective. One can either do the white hat or black hat SEO, where the latter is something a blogger shouldn’t do.

On the long run, the effects of SEO could be lifelong ones. From Good Alexa rank, to higher ranked post on search engines, and most especially blog popularity.

Without advertising and SEO, blogs can still have meaningful traffic.

There are several ways you can send traffic to your site, e.g. social media. The important thing is to sustain this traffic and know what to do with it once they land on your site

Nice post Justin. Thanks for sharing
