Absolutely Celine, it is best for the employee and you if you can get them to take action. The other thing to consider is that you should only have one profile on LinkedIn or it breaks there T’s and C’s which might help employees evolve – let’s say 😉

    • You are right about that. Having one LinkedIn profile should absolutely be considered. It will help more in bringing about better control!

An addendum gives you a legal right to envoke but it is worth mentioning that the legal precedent for profile ownership currently sits with the individual hence a coercive approach always better if you can.

    • Sure, if coercive approach will work better why not explore it? Thanks for seeing my point of adding an addendum the terms and conditions! There must be a legal way to prevent what has not happened in the future!

Thanks for the kind comment Sunday, like most of LinkedIn it is one area which is easy when you know how but there is a lot in LinkedIn – hence we run up to 4 consecutive days of training on it! • Hi James,
Thanks for sharing this piece. It is revealing that one can actually go ahead to remove ex-employees from LinkedIn company page. I barely have an idea of how to approach this before now.

At least, the two methods suggested here – ask the employee to remove their profile and file a formal complaint with LinkedIn – can be followed…[Read more]

      Hey James,
I definitely will follow the steps you have highlighted in this piece. They are simple and straight forward.

Although, no one knows when actual resolution would be achieved after a formal complaint is filed officially, the best bet should still be convincing the employee to remove their profile.

If he refuses, the company can…[Read more]

    • Filing a complaint to LinkedIn seems to me the best option if the employee cannot be reached. However, I am a advocate for preventative measures.

Before company allows a staff to fill in their profile on their LinkedIn page, there is need to ensure before hand that such information can be removed when the time comes.
