Avatar of Sunday Submitted by Sunday January 30, 2014 Website: searchengineland.com

Matt Cutts, Google’s head of search spam, posted a video answer encouraging webmasters not to use article directory web sites with the goal of building links.

The question posed was:

Links from relevant content in article directories — Seen as good or bad? eg. I link my beauty website from a cosmetic surgery article on say, Ezine? Would you do that?
Matt Cutts responded in short said that his personal recommendation is to not upload articles to article directories..

I only every submitted to EzineArticles before. I was always under the impression that without a solid article marketing strategy, and software, that time could be better spent elsewhere.

This clearly gives the feeling that Google does not want SEO people to survive. If this continues I am sure people will start moving from Google to Yahoo & Bing which we already can see through cOMscore data.

I really don’t understand that what Google is trying to do. Till the time Duplication was stopped it was worth. But if you want to stop articles where people are actually writing UNIQUE CONTENT (which Google wants) it does not make sense to ignore such area.

If I have to conclude from this a person has to just make the website Hygiene and leave it and just sit back and pray Google nothing else.
