This week Ruck wrote a blog post titled Why Some Affiliate Marketers Thrive While Most Barely Survive. This really got me reflecting on the hundreds of affiliates I’ve worked with and got to know over the years and who is still successful and who isn’t. Some are still generating strong seven-figure annual profits while others have retired back to the 9-5 and even quit working online all together.
Being an affiliate isn’t for everyone. Most people use it as a stepping stone to their next business venture. Several of my friends have used their affiliate marketing income to go on and create lucrative offline businesses. Others simply like working from one-campaign to the next and only put in 10 – 15 hours a week but are still able to generate solid figures annually. But what makes the difference between affiliates? Why do some do very well and others fizzle out?
