Avatar of David Oriol Submitted by David Oriol July 27, 2014 Website: www.moneymakingpillars.com

How to become an affiliate marketer? A question many people are asking. Business online is growing so vast that most of the biggest companies worldwide are already having their own websites for their products and services to be much known.

Most businesses online also accepts deals literally online rather than the usually small time meet ups and deals.

So it’s not a matter of just communicating anymore, but literally a store where you can buy some stuffs while sitting on your desks and having some coffee.

Affiliate marketing is one of the popular ways to make consistent money online. Success in this system of business requires strict adherence to basic rules.

Well, it seems this post has highlighted the basic do’s and don’ts that imply rules for affiliate marketing.

Adhering to the rules shared above would readily help the affiliate to become a success.

However, the successful affiliate marketer must be one that always help solve the needs of customers through the consistent value shared in blogs, contents, and newsletters delivered to prospective clients!

    Hi David,

Of course, the worse of all is quitting as an affiliate marketer.

It takes a lot of time to achieve results but of all of these, what we ought to understand is the fact that following those do’s of affiliate marketing will of course bring in the expected results.
    Thanks for these.

    Hey David,

You gave some great advice. The one benefit that will attract a lot of people to affiliate marketing is that you can get started for free.

Now it may attract some tire kickers, but those who really want to get something going, and will sacrifice some time to do it but don’t have the cash needed will benefit from this.

Above all, I also believe blogging is one of the best ways to market. Not only are you marketing the product, but also you are selling youself. That’s key! You attract more people if you show that you want to help them!

Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great day!

The best don’t is quitting. Many people lose hope before even trying hard enough. It is very essential to work hard and then come to any conclusion. Another don’t I loved is to not overflow the income of affiliate programs.

The best thing an affiliate to do is to engage more within communities, one should take time to build trust as sales will follow eventually.

    Nice post.

That’s what I like about affiliate marketing is that you can get started for free. This way, you can take time to learn how to do affiliate marketing properly without having to worry about paying a bill.

You are right about joining too many programs at the same time. It can really be hard to promote dozens of programs. It is easy to get caught up in joining affiliate programs but you should only join the ones that will be useful and focus on the topics that you are writing about. Thanks for sharing this with us!

This is a good article to read if someone want to learn how to be a successful affiliate marketer. Because most of all the ways needed are provided here on your articles. You wrote it well, clear and easy to learn. The thing we need to do are ‘communities online’ is a main thing we must have. By getting in the communities, it is the easier way to promote our products. Other points by having blogs /contents and newsletters is more important thing we need to do.

It’s important one know what to do and what not to do when it comes to affiliate marketing, it is sure a good way to earn money but it does not come easy…

Quitting is not an option if one wants to earn with affiliate marketing, with the right knowledge, effort, dedication and patience, the money will roll in..

One should take one or two affiliate programs and get the best out of it, being on too many affiliate programs will divide your effort and in the end may not give you desired results…

There are some excellent points in this post. I especially like your affiliate marketing graphic. So many people have the arrows going the wrong way and spam and pester people. I appreciate your insights.

    All the best,

    Hi David,

These are some good tips, and I think the most significant tip is to be friendly and gain online friends. People always tend to buy from someone that provides trust, comfort, and a good, beneficial relationship. So, add value to them as well and they will add value to you. Also, yes, you should never go at it just spamming everyone, this will make you want to quit, because you will probably get NO leads. Just be friendly and add value to as many people as possible, and learn how to market to them without seeming like a marketer. Its a skill!

Loved this! Best point you made is not to get caught up in the “grass is greener on the other side of the fence” syndrome, and jump from one affiliate program to the next, and then next, and the next….and not to ever quit! If you have the self-discipline and patience to work with just one or two programs and really see them through, they will work for you as long as you are taking all the necessary steps!

    cheers,
    Katja

Overall, this is a pretty good post. It is important not to get involved in too many programs when you first start out.

Getting in to a lot of different affiliate programs when you first start out can be overwhelming because you will get confused as to which program to focus your attention on. Your best bet is to focus on a few programs that you feel comfortable with, put your best efforts behind those programs, and learn as much as you can.

    Hi David,
Affiliate marketing is a complex business and surely needs to be practised with care. Some of the do’s and dont’s according to me and as you mentioned are:

    1. Start with a product which is genuine, reliable and actually provides the solution in the market and niche. Even if the commissions are low, go for it and increased number of sales will compensate for it.
    2. Build trust first with the audience. No one likes a salesman overselling and throwing cheap stuff all the time.
    3. Start with content marketing by carefully using the approach of reviewing, benefits and call-to-action. You can later integrate video marketing too.

Thanks for sharing this article with us David.
