5 Ways How Hiring Freelance Writers Will Save Your Almost Failed Outreach Link Building

freelance writers

So, you’ve been working hard to build links, but nothing seems to be working? I hear you. It can be hard to create those links – particularly because you actually need both a lot and high-quality ones for it to actually get you anywhere. So yeah, a lot of effort can sometimes not seem to pay off at all.

Fortunately, there are ways to rescue your efforts. One such way is to use freelance writers. Here we’re going to explore why that works as well as it does so that you know how to use them to get your link building up to speed.

You might be stuck in a mental rut

The first thing bringing in freelancers can do for you is make you realize where you were stuck in a mental rut. That happens a lot faster than you may think. Even worse, as we’re frequently blind to our own mistakes, you might not even realize what you’re doing!

Freelancers can help in that regard. They can give you fresh ideas and fresh insights that allow you to reconsider what you’re doing. And that’s before they’ve even written a text!

In fact, that’s why freelance writers are sometimes better than staff writers. After all, the longer you work together, the more you’re going to have the same corporate philosophy and outlook. That means that you might not even realize the doors that you’re closing.

They have areas of interest

The great thing about freelance writers is that they have their own areas of specialization and interest. This means that if you’re trying to use guest posts as ways to build links to your own material, you can get onto blogs, websites and portals that might have otherwise have been a reach.

In this way, you might be able to build valuable links – like getting your site mentioned on a .edu or .gov site (Which are far more valuable in terms of SEO than normal sites). Alternatively, you can have a freelancer write articles for well-established sites and in that way create better links.

Of course, to use this to best effect actually sit down and write down the areas that you’d be most interested in hiring. Then when you put up an ad, you can immediately see whether the people responding fit what you’re looking for or not. This will save you (and the freelancers you’re not interested in) a lot of time.

There is already one automatic link

If you allow the freelance writer to put their own names underneath the content they put on your site, then quite often they’ll link to your content from their own portfolios. This is particularly true if you approach freelance writers who normally do a lot of ghostwriting, as one of the greatest drawbacks to this kind of work is the limited bylines that they end up getting.

And as ghost writers are quite often willing to write texts for you at a fraction of established writers, this really can be a double win. So go find a college essay writing service (like Supreme Dissertations or anything like that) or a similar site and start recruiting!

You can let them go easily

Another advantage is that if you don’t like a freelancer, well that’s it. Thank you for your time, I hope you the best of luck finding your next client. In this way you can quickly narrow in on a group of freelancers that you prefer working with, while leaving those that talk a lot but can’t deliver in the dust.

You don’t even have to let your opinion decide which one you keep. You can simply go by their track record. Per dollar spent, who builds the most backlinks to your site? Those are the ones you want to keep (provided you can work with them, of course).

The process is easy to scale

Once you get the hang of this, it’s very easy indeed to scale it up. Just bring in more writers and start building more links on other sites. Can’t think of that many subjects? Then why not bring somebody in who you pay to think of good headlines! Just give them a list of the titles you’ve already brought in and pay them X cents per new headline that they come up with that you decide to use.

Then all you need to do is pass that on to your writers and bob’s your uncle.

Last words

Sure, in the beginning, this might cost you a bit of money. Getting people to write you lots of articles can be expensive and in the freelance writing world, you really do get what you pay for. At the same time, if you set this up correctly then your site will very quickly rise through the Google ranks and in a few months, you should be able to get a huge inflow of new traffic from ranking well. And since you don’t have to pay for these (and the effect can last a long time) that means you’ll be able to earn your money back and then some.

In this way, the freelancers will pay for themselves – particularly because a well-respected sight has a lot of value on its own. So go for it. Dip your toe in the water and try it out. Get a grip on how to do these things properly.  From there, scale, scale, scale! In that way, you’ll have a huge number of links in no time.

    Hi, Pat

You gave me a lot to think about. I never thought of hiring writers to actually come up with new ideas for my backlinks.

I usually come up with them myself, which sometimes I can struggle to think okay, what should I write about next.

I guess having more writers brainstorming with me, would be a heck of a lot easier.

This sure helps cut down on time, too! Writing backlinks is a lot of work.

    Very helpful article.

    Thanks!

These are all really good points. Any tips on analyzing the ROI on a freelance linkbuilder? Asking because it seems like sometimes the payoff of linkbuilding work can take some time – how much time do you typically give them before determining if they are successful or not? Or do you initially focus on early indicators such as their ability to research and identify quality links? Thanks!

    Hi Pat,

I never thought about hiring freelance writers just for link building.

It’s very easy to suffer from writer’s block. It can be hard to come up with new ideas.

Having a fresh person to help is a great idea.

Plus, like you mentioned we are not hiring a person so it won’t be hard if we don’t like their service.

Often with freelance writers we can see past work which can help us choose the right writer from the beginning.

Link building can be very tedious and boring. It’s a great idea to outsource this process through article writing.

Thanks for sharing and have an blessed week!

    John
