Today we will look at five things you must do before developing a digital strategy that drives meaningful and measurable results.

Too many marketers start with channels, not a solid plan. If social media is big, they start tweeting, retweeting and posting on Facebook. If video is big, they start making videos about anything and everything.

That’s going about it backwards.

Before deciding on channels or tactics, you need a plan that’s built around your business goals and customer needs.

    The first thing that popped up in my mind was, Goal and knowledge. Well, I’ve found it on the 1st topic that talks about Identify Your Business Goals. In my view, you cannot start a business without any goal, I guess you will experience a downfall several times. Because having this will motivate you to work hard or even harder if you fail.

    Right about seeking first and prioritizing customer needs. Going after marketing trends without first knowing what works for your customers will end negatively.

    I mean, one can be wasting so many resources- time, energy, and money- if you apply every marketing trend that comes your way, without knowing first whether it’s going to help you deliver goods and services in a better way for customers. In short, it will be useless.

    The tips specified are spot on. I also like how the tips are sequenced.

    All other steps and strategies carried out to this effect center around that plan.

    Having said that, the concept of researching the best marketing and promotional strategy for a company begins with setting goals and developing workable plans.
